Katharine Dixon, President & CEO, has been with Rebuilding Together DC • Alexandria since 2003 and has more than 25 years of project management experience. She sits on the Alexandria Housing Affordability Advisory Committee, the Advisory Councils of Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance, and the Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness, and has held leadership roles on the Alexandria Council of Human Services Organizations, the Alexandria Housing Master Plan Committee, and the Chamber of Commerce. She lives in Alexandria with her Great Danes.
Haig Paul, Director of Programs, has volunteered with our organization as a House Captain and Team Leader for several years. Haig’s extensive construction and remodeling knowledge, customer service experience, and project management skills are put to daily use for our clients and projects. Haig is a native of Northern Virginia, and lives in Springfield with his wife and two children.
Don Coates, Director of Development, has led fundraising efforts for several nonprofit organizations in the DC/Baltimore metro area during his more than 28 years of fund-development experience. In addition to serving in Development leadership roles, he has also provided professional fundraising consulting to nonprofits/associations whose missions include the Arts, Education, Health, Research, Environmental, Religious, Social Service and Military causes. Don is a long-time member of both the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, DC (DMAW) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He lives in Washington, DC and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a community-based youth nonprofit.
Ann Nguyen, Office Manager, is the glue that holds everything together. She assists in the day to day management of the office and works directly with the President & CEO. Ann has lived in Alexandria for 50 years. She enjoys volunteering with the elderly, walking her two poodles, and traveling with her husband of 33 years.
John Baudassi, Project Manager, started volunteering with the organization during the summer of 2018. He has extensive experience in home building and remodeling, having owned and operated a remodeling company. John is a native of New York and has lived and worked in northern Virginia since 1985.
Charles Hunter, Project Manager, has worked as a Project Manager for 17 of his 30 years of experience in construction. He is a carpenter by trade and has built and remodeled over 1,000 homes in the Outer Banks and Washington DC areas. Charles received awards for his craftsmanship throughout his career. He enjoys being able to solve problems employing the motto – "no problems, only solutions."
Anne Holic, Project Manager, has a Master's degree in Architecture. Recently, she was Lead Professor and Department Head of Interior Design at the Art Institute of Washington. Previously, she ran her own Architectural Design company overseeing residential additions and renovations. Anne worked four years with Habitat for Humanity guiding affordable home construction. She enjoys travel, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Michael Spaeth, Communications and Development Coordinator, works to enhance the organization’s communications, outreach, and fundraising efforts. He is originally from Dayton, Ohio and has a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of Michigan. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, creative writing, and playing jazz saxophone.
Karen Pena, Program Assistant, moved to the DC metro area 35 years ago from Delaware. She has worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sector focusing on HR, Finance and Office Administration. She enjoys cycling with her husband, kayaking and spending all her “extra” time in her garden. Karen lives in Arlington with her husband, daughter, and two rescue dogs, Cooper and Roxy.
Grayson Metzger, AmeriCorps Project Coordinator, graduated from Brown University in May of 2018 with a degree in International Relations. She recently moved to northern Virginia. She looks forward to a year of service with Rebuilding Together DC • Alexandria.
Riley Conrad, AmeriCorps Outreach Coordinator, also graduated in May of 2018 with a degree in International Politics and Religious Studies from Virginia Wesleyan University. She has lived in northern Virginia her whole life. She is serving with Rebuilding Together DC • Alexandria to give back to a community that shaped who she is.
JoAnna Woodard, Bookkeeper, is an accountant professional with a decade of experience within the private sector. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with friends and family. She also enjoys volunteering at her grandchildren's school, teaching an old-fashioned home economics class, which includes sewing, baking, and teaching the kids how to prepare a healthy meal or snack.
