Katharine Dixon

Katharine Dixon has served as the CEO of Rebuilding Together DC • Alexandria since 2003, bringing with her a deep commitment to community service rooted in years of hands-on volunteer work with Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, and other local organizations. Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, she spent 15 years in the advertising industry, developing a strong foundation in strategic communications and leadership.

Ms. Dixon currently co-chairs the DC Coalition’s Housing Committee and serves on the Leadership Council of the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance, the Dominion Energy EnergyShare Advisory Board, and the DC Healthy Housing Collaborative. She is also an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League.

Her past leadership includes board and advisory roles with the US Vets Advisory Council, Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the Alexandria Housing Affordability Advisory Committee, the Executive Committee of Leadership Alexandria, and the Alexandria Housing Master Plan Committee.

Katharine now resides in Washington, DC, where she enjoys rehabbing her 1932-built home and her Great Danes.

Chris Moore

Christopher C. Moore, Director of Programs, began his career in project management over 15 years ago. This experience, collaborating with clients and various DC government agencies, has prepared him for his role with Rebuilding Together DC • Alexandria. A native of Pasadena, California, he graduated from Howard University with a degree in Architecture and Planning. Chris enjoys quality time with family, friends and good food. 

Kimberly Coghill

Kimberly Coghill, Development Manager, is a marketing, communications and fundraising professional with more than with 30 years of experience with trade associations and nonprofit organizations. She has previously served in marketing and communications roles with the ACA International, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and is a certified public relations professional through the Public Relations Society of America.

Nancy Lobo

Nancy Lobo, Program Assistant, is a dedicated leader in early childhood education with nearly a decade of experience. She is the founder and owner of the Magic Art Bus and previously held the role of director of operations for the Child and Family Network Centers (CFNC). Nancy is passionate about developing programs to bridge developmental gaps in underserved communities, believing in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty. A first-generation college graduate from El Salvador, Nancy holds a master’s in educational leadership from George Mason University and has earned a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University, along with a Bachelor’s degree Trinity University.

Haig Paul

Haig Paul, Construction Manager, volunteered with our organization as a House Captain and Team Leader before joining our staff 10 years ago.  Haig’s extensive construction and remodeling knowledge, customer service experience, and project management skills are put to daily use for our clients and projects. Haig is a native of Northern Virginia and lives in Springfield with his wife and two children. 

Ann Nguyen

Ann Nguyen, Office Manager, is the glue that holds everything together. She assists in the day to day management of the office and works directly with the President & CEO. Ann has lived in Alexandria for over 50 years. She enjoys volunteering with the elderly, walking her dog, and traveling with her husband of 38 years. 

Shalawn March

Shalawn March, Programs Manager, is a proud Howard University graduate with a degree in Political Science. Experience as an AmeriCorps member and a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist has equipped her to successfully manage programs like DACL’s Safe at Home and HUD’s Older Adults Program. Shalawn is passionate about giving back to the DC community through both her professional work and volunteer efforts. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her community garden and exploring the city’s vibrant, ever-changing arts scene.

Val Pehrson

Val is a Program Manager for HUD’s Healthy Homes Production grant and also manages flood resiliency retrofits through DOEE’s Flood Smart Homes Program. A lifelong Washingtonian, Val started with Rebuilding Together DCA as an AmeriCorps member and has been on staff for the three years since then. His favorite parts of his job are working with volunteers, improving people’s living situations, and getting creative to maximize impact to his clients’ homes. 

Candy Cook Vance

Candy Cook Vance, Grant Administrator, was previously a Store Director of 32 years at Safeway. She is a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) and enjoys shopping, movies, travelling, relaxing near water, and spending time with her family and friends.
