With the help of Wells Fargo's legal team, we have officially launched and led our FIRST Exclusive Project Day of the season! The RTDCA programs team dispatched several, energetic volunteers to assist Mr. and Mrs. Rasheed on our repair project yesterday.
The couple, married for nearly 50 years, has lived in their DC home for THIRTY of those years. We were honored to make their house safer and healthier. We took out a good deal of bulk trash, painted the front porch railings, and much more. And we aren't quite finished so, we'll be visiting the residence again soon.
Surprisingly enough, Mr. R was more than happy to get his hands "dirty" with us! What an interactive and collective effort.

Today, we took part in a summit with the Alexandria Healthy Homes Network! The network is a coalition of housing organizations that work to create #safeandhealthy homes for ALL Alexandria residents. We plan to make meaningful changes that improve residents' quality of life in just a few years. Within this first year, Rebuilding Together DCA has attended several formal meetings to assist with: coordinating service deliveries, implementing strategies, creating measurable goals, and working with impacted residents/property managers, to target crisis within the healthy homes ecosystem. The #hhn plans to continue serving #Alexandria residents; we're excited to create MORE beneficial impact in more cities around us!
